The Many Faces of Susi "Critter" McCormack

Born in Hamilton Ontario, Canada
July 30th, 19-and-then-some

A Leo baby, (Lion, of course) consummated during a freak snowstorm on Halloween. Mom was dressed as Betty Boop and Dad Dudley Do Right, RCMP. Susi had no choice but to be a little different. Armed with her stuffed chimpanzee (chico, not teddy), she struggled through adolescence and a brother threatening to flush her down the toilet while calling her "Sam squeak the monkey face."  Always looking through whim-see eyes and finding wit and humor in most everything, it’s no wonder she became twisted with words. At the age of 12 her parents decided to move to Pompano (a fish) Beach FL. Their neighbor was a guy with a garbage truck adorned with signs saying "free snow removal" and "we cater weddings." He told her Mom she had potential... (anyone know who this is?) Heard he is quite famous these days? Seems like Susi always ran into people with interesting names for her to twist, e.g., her first eyeglass doctor, and this is no lie, "Dr. Ray Glass," then there was the cat's vet, "Dr. Bull," or the gynecologist, "Dr Booher." She went to a psychic reading once and the psychic started hiccuping during the reading and told Susi that she had a sister spirit named Rhonda... of course this turned into the the psych-hick saying "help, help me Rhonda..." Okay, so now you know what era I am from. Off to college at the University of FL and the gators... got a degree in recreation (really) raised a future congress woman. She says we raised each other. Tried to take some serious art courses but the instructors finally gave up on her said "go back to your corner and do what you want, you will anyway" and Susi says, "okay, I can do that... hahaha."  Trying to mold friends didn’t seem to work either so she decided to use clay instead. Her business started as a hobby then she decided to do an art show in 1977 (okay, another hint on the and-then-some thing) to see if she could make an extra buck... and she has been selling her art through catalogs and at festivals and galleries ever since.
